Tensile Behavior of Titanium-Clad Bimetallic Steel Butt-Welded Joints

Because of the promising corrosion resistance and load-bearing capacity, titanium-clad (TC) bimetallic steel has gained increasing attention in ocean/coastal civil structural engineering. Due to double-layer nature TC steel, characteristics member’s geometry weld details are considerably different from that conventional members. Even though previous studies have conducted systematical clarifications on parent material steels, mechanical behaviors joints still vague. This paper firstly describes manufacture features welded Subsequently, type II III butt-welded provided by GB/T 13149-2009 selected study corresponding tensile behavior. Two plates were fabricated hot-rolled bonding TA2 + Q355B welding wire ER55-Ni1 ERTA2ELI. Eight coupons then extracted two loaded failure monotonically.
